Boyolali (16/1). Regular Umrah pilgrims for the Solo - Jeddah route via Banda Aceh since May 3, 2016, the National Airline Garuda Indonesia inaugurated again another Middle East destination, namely the city of Medina and will transit at Aceh Airport on Wednesday (16/1).
Attended by the Assistant for Economy and Development the Regional Secretary of Central Java Province, the Mayor of Surakarta, the Vice-Regent of Boyolali, the General Manager of Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Branch Office Solo, PTS. General Manager of PT. Angkasa Pura I (Persero) Branch Adi Soemarmo Airport, Flight Route Solo - Banda Aceh - Madinah inaugurated.
"The opening of the Solo - Banda Aceh - Madinah flight route is in line with the increasing demand for the Umrah market from Solo and its surroundings. It is hoped that the Solo - Banda Aceh - Madinah route can optimize the potential of the Umrah market,” said General Manager Indonesia Hendrawan.
Hendrawan also explained that the number of registered Umrah pilgrims in 2018 who departed from Solo was around 25,000 peoples. This figure has increased when compared to the previous year around 19,000 people.
Solo - Banda Aceh - Madinah (PP) flights will be served once a week, namely on Wednesday by using a wide body aircraft Type Airbus A 330 - 330E with a capacity of 360 passengers (all economy class).
